Northwest Trek is Great outdoors adventure for friends and family

If you haven't been to Northwest Trek, it might be worth a trip for you and your family and friends. The Northwest Trek Wildlife Park is a wildlife park located in Eatonville, Washington, near the city of Enumclaw. The park features a 435-acre free-roaming area where visitors can see animals such as bison, elk, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep. There is also a tram tour that takes visitors through a separate area where they can see animals such as bears, wolves, and wolverines. The park also has a number of walking trails, a playground, and picnic areas. The park is open year-round but some of the amenities may not be available due to the weather.

The tram tour at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park is a guided tour that takes visitors through a separate area of the park where they can see some of the animals The tour lasts about 45 minutes and covers about 7 miles of terrain. The tour guide provides information about the animals and their habitats, as well as the park's conservation efforts. The tram is open-air and visitors can take photos during the tour. The tram tour is an optional add-on to the general admission, and it is not included in the general admission price. It runs on certain days and times, and it is a good idea to check the schedule and availability in advance.

It is a special treat indeed. Fun for the whole family.

Dockton Forest is a Popular Spot for Mountain Biking

Dockton Forest is a popular spot for mountain biking on Maury Island, Washington. The area offers a network of singletrack trails that wind through the woods, offering challenging climbs and descents. The trails are suitable for intermediate and advanced riders, and are known for their technical sections and rocky terrain. There are several different trails in Dockton Forest, some of which are steep and technical, while others are more flowy and less challenging. Some popular trails include:

  • "Flying Monkey": This is a  popular blue singletrack trail that is 1,499 ft long.

  •  On average it takes 1 minute to complete this trail. Fun!

  • "The Maury Incident": This is definitely a black diamond-rated jump line.  It has a really good flow that will keep you exhilarated all the way to the bottom.

  • "Gravel Pit Access Trail: This is a multi-use dirt/gravel road trail

  •  that can be used both directions and is 3,858 ft long. It has a moderate rating. On average it takes 11 minutes to complete this trail but you will probably stop and see the sights like we did.

It's worth noting that these trails are not maintained by any official organization and as such, the conditions of the trails can change frequently. Some trails may be closed or have washouts, so it is always good to check with local riders before heading out.

We had a great time here. It was peaceful, quiet, and was a very enjoyable adventure with my two daughters.
